We know what we are but know not
What we may be

˜ Hamlet, Act 4, Scene 5

Life is change and people are a work in progress. But for most of us, there are certain things that hold true, shaping the choices we make, influencing the life we create and informing the person we are - or hope to become.

So, who am I?

I'm a writer. I was born with a heart full of stories and a head full of voices. It's either let them out or explode - and that would be messy and painful.

I'm also a beach-bumming, theater-going, museum-haunting, bliss-following, art-loving, music-addicted, bird-watching, poetry-reading, guitar-playing, Shakespeare-obsessed foodie who loves traveling and hanging out with friends. When I'm not writing, I play with paint, pencils, beads, and clay, read mountains of books, do yoga in the sunshine, go for long, rambling walks, build stellar sand castles, and grow a mean garden.

I live in Northern California with my husband and my youngest son (my oldest, too, when he's home from college). We share our home and garden with four spoiled felines, two ponds full of goldfish, a mated pair of Cooper's hawks who think they own our big birdbath, and Mrs. Possum, who visits nightly looking for spilled birdseed and the apple slices I leave out for her. I spend as much time as possible in Santa Cruz, San Francisco, and Monterey, which is probably why my books are set there.

I'm represented by Nephele Tempest of The Knight Agency. She's the absolute best.
